GNU Backgammon for Windows

I love this game. I just wish it was available for Windows 10. I had to upgrade and can't put it on my new laptop.

GNUB luck. If I had the "luck" GNUB has I would be living in Las Vegas and making millions.

Lucky dice. if I had the same kind of luck GNU dice does I would be living a Vegas.

It ins't fun to play because the dice rolls are just too far fetched!. Probably the one of the nicest UI and nice set of features, it is extremely regrettable that it doesn't have a better dice engine! Pros: A lot of features for serious players.Very nice layout, in my opinion the nicest user interface.Freeware Cons: The dice engine is just plain and simply completely whacked out!GNUBG would be great with the Quick Backgammon dice engine... or maybe someone could make a plug-in engine for it that would give more realistic dice rolls.The dice engine ruins the game, it's no fun to play!Because of the completely unreal dice rolls I cannot give this game more than a rating of 1, wiht a good dice engine it would be a 10!The dice rolls in Quick Backgammon are just better and way more credible... but the UI in that game is horrible, but still despite the horrible UI Quick Backgammon is way more fun to play because of the dice rolls.

Anyone who has ever played dice games of any sorts just knows that the rolls dished out by this game are just way to far fetched to be credible! How often does one roll double six four times in a row! And then roll perfect rolls to fill out just the needed space on the board? When is cheating or too much coincidence not cheating. Whilst the FAQs insist in capitals that GNU Backgammon does not cheat, this all depends on your definition of cheating. Having and using information that is not available to your opponent is one definition of cheating. This includes having a registry of probabilities and patterns of dice throws from a million games. I find it more than coincidental that, when I have won the first game, GNU will opt for a double AFTER THE FIRST THROW on the second game and INVARIABLY win. I am yet to be convinced that there is no cheating going on.
